Lady Mustangs take home the NJCSAL Tournament Title

Newark, New Jersey - Briana Lee scored 29 points and won 13 rebounds to help our No. 1 seeded M.E.T.S. Charter School defeat the No. 2 seeded Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School, 70-39, in the final round of the New Jersey Charter Athletic League Tournament at the Newark YMCA in Newark.  This marks the girls basketball team's second tournament win of the season and is another first for M.E.T.S. Athletics.

Lee also nabbed six steals, had five blocks, and passed out two assists to earn the tournament's MVP honors. The Lady Mustangs's also saw Joscelyn Williams and Kamrin Babbs add 14 and 11 points respectively for M.E.T.S. Charter School which led by eleven going into the second half. Our very own Babbs and Radaisha Talley of Academy, who scored 20 points for the losing team, earned All-Tournament Team honors. These athletes called the shots in the New Jersey Charter School Athletic League by taking the regular season crown, and then dominated to also take home the tournament title.
