Lead Testing in the Water


Lead Testing Results for Jersey City Campus

Pursuant N.J.A.C. 6A:26-12.4(i), M.E.T.S. Charter School (Jersey City Campus) located at 211 Sherman Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey completed the mandated testing for lead in the drinking water in April of 2017. Results from the lead test are good for six years, and will be conducted again during the 2022-2023 school year. M.E.T.S. Charter School continues to provide assurance that the development and implementation of a testing program was completed in accordance with the technical guidelines established by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Lead Testing Exemption for Newark Campus

Pursuant N.J.A.C. 6A:26-12.4(i), M.E.T.S. Charter School (Newark Campus) located at 570 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey requested an exemption from the water testing requirements set forth by N.J.A.C. 6A:12.4(d). The M.E.T.S. Charter School (Newark Campus) was granted this exemption, and the letter confirming the exemption from testing is posted on our website. The Alternate Plan for Drinking Water is below:

  1. All installed drinking faucets will not be used for consumption, including drinking and food preparation, and are covered so they cannot be used.
  2. All restroom faucets have "For Hand-Washing Only" signs posted.
  3. We have installed cold tap water coolers throughout the building for use by students and staff.
