Delayed Openings or School Closings. When inclement weather is severe enough to cause a delayed opening or the closing of school for the day, M.E.T.S. Charter School will utilize several redundant forms of communication in order to contact parents/guardians as quickly as possible about any changes to the normal school day. The primary forms of communication include automated phone messages, e-mail messages, and notices posted on the school’s website – www.metscharterschool.org
In addition, announcements may be made on radio stations; televised on the TV News 12 New Jersey, Fox 5 TV, and NBC Channel 4 News. You may call the administration building’s main telephone number - – for a pre-recorded message concerning school closings or delayed openings.
Early Closings. Occasionally, it becomes necessary, once school is in session, to close before the regular dismissal time. Announcements about early closings will be made utilizing the aforementioned communication systems. Circumstances for which early dismissal may be required include flooding, lack of heat or water, extremely high temperatures, and sudden or worsening storms.
