Kean University's Annual Hackathon V


On April 6th-7th, 2019, METS student Bryan Escobar attended Kean University's Annual Hackathon. Kean University's Annual Hackathon is a 24 hours event where you meet fellow hackers, learn new technologies, and hone your skills alongside seasoned mentors. 24 hours of learning and building project of your choice relating to software applications and hardware (design, music, art, animation, etc.).

Computing and Security Enrichment Outreach Program Graduation, Spring 2019


On April 13, 2019,  Fairleigh Dickinson University Computing and Security Enrichment Outreach Program graduation ceremony. M.E.T.S. Charter School graduates are Aisha Bhamla, Bryan Escobar, Fanuel Perez, Jaylynne Garcia, and Joshua Cordon. Congratulations on your completion of CSEOP!

CSEOP emphasized five major area concentrations of particular relevance and interest for budding cybersecurity technologists:  Inside Computers and Networking, Criminal Justice and Cyber Crime, Programming using Alice (Java), Image Processing and Steganography, Cryptography and Cybersecurity.

Girls in Technology

On March 28, 2019, Hudson County Community College’s Continuing Education & Workforce Development Division (CEWD) hosted its sixth annual “Girls in Technology Symposium.” The focus of the Symposium was to deliver information about careers and opportunities in the technology field to female students.  M.E.T.S. young women participated in the daylong event, featuring a panel with women working in technology, a student “Technology: Past, Present & Future” display contest, and various hands-on activities presented by participating partners and HCCC’s Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Department.

Our own Mrs. Noelle Tabor has been awarded Teacher of the Year. At a honorary dinner on Monday, March 25, 2019, Mrs. Tabor and other teachers were recognized for excellence in teaching.
