ETS Employee's Community Action Fund 2019 Scholarship Program

Who is Eligible?

New Jersey public high school seniors graduating in May or June of 2019 who are:

  • Experiencing significant and verifiable challenges
  • Enrolled full time in an accredited, postsecondary nonprofit educational institution in the fall of 2019
  • Actively pursuing a degree at a postsecondary nonprofit institution (two- or four-year college/university or vocational/technical school)

How do I Apply?

  • Prepare your essay focusing on the following topics (500 words or less):
    • Describe your hardship and how it impacts you
    • How do you envision using your degree in 10 years?
  • Visit the ECAF application website at https://aim.applyists.net/ECAFNJ 

What's the Timeline?

The application period closes on April 27, 2019, and award decisions will be announced in June 2019.

Boys Basketball Results

The boys varsity basketball team fell to Eastern Christian High School 59-47. Keshon Phillips led the way with 11 points on the night. The boys are back in action on Friday at Hasbrouck Heights at 7:00pm. Come out and support the team!

Movie Night on December 21st

Movie Night

We will be hosting a movie night for students on Friday, December 21st at 1:30pm in the cafeteria. The cost of admission is $2, and all students are welcome to attend. We will be showing Home Alone, and pizza and popcorn will be available to those in attendance! We look forward to seeing you there!

Newark Campus Honor Roll Students Honored

The honor roll students at the Newark campus were honored in a ceremony on Tuesday, December 11th for their accomplishments during the first marking period.

Are You Interested in Speaking at a Board Meeting?

Are you interested in speaking at an upcoming board meeting? If so, you may utilize the public comment session to address your concerns. In an effort to streamline the process for those that wish to speak, we ask that you fill out the Public Comment Sign-up form located on our Board of Education page. The next regularly scheduled meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 19th at 7:00pm in our Newark location, 570 Broad Street.

Please Note: This portion of the meeting is open to citizens for comment on agenda items only. Residents are to state their names, addresses, and subject matter. Comments may be limited to five minutes per person. Members of the public are discouraged from speaking negatively about an employee or a student. The Board bears no responsibility for comments made by the public. Comments regarding employees or students cannot be legally responded to by the Board. Other comments may be responded to tonight or at subsequent meetings under "old business."

Final Girls Basketball Scrimmage Results

Girls Basketball

The M.E.T.S. Charter School girls basketball team wrapped up their preseason schedule with scrimmages against Central High School, Ferris High School, Linden High School, and Payne Tech. M.E.T.S. took a hard fought loss against Central 37-33. Briana Lee lead the way with 23 points, 16 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 blocks. Oreoluwa Awojobi added 5 points, and Lidia Santos 4 points. In a win against Ferris High School, Brianna Lee again led the way with 30 points, 17 rebounds, 8 steals, and 2 blocks. Jawannie O'Neil contributed 5 points in the win. The Lady Mustangs open their season tomorrow at Verona High School at 4:30pm. Please come out and support our ladies!
